Business Event July 2019
In July, the Slovenian Business Club Zambia welcomed Zambian entrepreneur Gregor Mwalula and Mrs. Andreja Mwalula to the ICPE Center in Ljubljana. Although they both live and work in the Republic of Zambia, they have strong ties to Slovenia through their Slovene heritage.

During the event, Gregor Mwalula shared his entrepreneurial journey and provided an overview of the current business environment in Zambia, with a particular focus on the rapidly growing renewable energy sector. As one of the region’s most stable economies, Zambia is investing heavily in renewable resources, creating significant opportunities for foreign companies. He highlighted the government’s commitment to expanding electricity generation and the growing demand for international investors and business partners in the sector.
Mrs. Andreja Mwalula spoke about her personal journey and her dedication to education. She presented the work of the Twende Foundation, an organisation she founded to provide educational opportunities for hospitalized children and young people who face challenges in accessing primary education. Through the foundation, she continues to support children in pursuing their education despite difficult circumstances.
More than 20 representatives of Slovenian companies attended the business meeting, where participants gained valuable insights into doing business in Zambia while learning about the country’s investment potential and social initiatives.
The event also introduced plans for an autumn business delegation to the Republic of Zambia, with applications for interested participants opening during the meeting.
