The EU–Zambia Lobito Corridor Business Forum was the main business event within the framework of the European Global Gateway initiative, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and investment between the European Union and the countries along the Lobito Corridor (Zambia, Angola, DR Congo).

The event highlighted the importance of sustainable investments in infrastructure, energy, agriculture and value-added industry, and encouraged the integration of the private sector, development institutions and government partners.

The Slovenian Business Club Zambia actively participated in the forum as a representative of the Slovenian economy in Zambia and the region. The purpose of the participation was:
– to present Slovenia as a reliable European partner in the field of sustainable development, technologies and knowledge;
– to promote Slovenian companies and identify business opportunities in the sectors of agriculture, renewable energy sources and industrial processing;
– to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between Slovenia and Zambia;
– to establish new connections with European and Zambian institutions within the framework of the Global Gateway.

During the forum, the business club held numerous B2B discussions with participants from various sectors, with particular emphasis on:
– investment opportunities in sustainable agro-projects
– opportunities in the field of renewable energy
– interest in projects with social impact (ESG and carbon credits),
– potentials for connecting Slovenian companies with local partners in Zambia.
The event enabled direct contact with representatives of the European Commission and Zambian regional development institutions, which represents an important step towards the inclusion of Slovenian companies in broader European investment initiatives in this part of Africa.

The forum confirmed Zambia’s role as a key logistical and economic hub in the region. For Slovenia, participation in such an event represents a strategic opportunity to:
– strengthen the presence of the Slovenian economy in sub-Saharan Africa,
– position Slovenia as a developmentally and technologically advanced country,
– create partnerships within the framework of European sustainable investments,
– encourage export-oriented companies to enter African markets.
The participation of the Slovenian Business Club of Zambia in the EU-Zambia Lobito Corridor Business Forum 2025 was very successful. The participation strengthened Slovenia’s visibility, opened up concrete opportunities for future projects and consolidated the club’s position as a platform for connecting Slovenian and Zambian companies.

The Slovenian Business Club Zambia will continue its activities to strengthen economic cooperation, primarily by organizing business meetings, field visits and partnership projects within the framework of European development initiatives.
